Breast implants not only boost the size of ladies' busts, but they also improve womens' sex lives. According to a study from Brazil, women who had cosmetic surgery to enhance their breast size reported to having better sex lives.

The study involved 45 women who planned to undergo breast augmentation surgery. Before their surgeries, Dr. Paulo Guimaros and his fellow colleagues gave the women questionnaires to assess the quality of their sex lives and sexual satisfaction.

Post-surgery, 36 women did not develop stretch marks but the rest of the nine women did. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, stretch marks can occur if the implant is significantly larger than the original size of the breasts.

They were given the same questionnaire two, four and 18 months after the surgery. According to HealthDay News, it was reported that those 36 women who did not develop stretch marks gained improved levels of arousal and more satisfaction with their sexual experiences. However, the remaining number of women who experienced stretch marks as a result of the surgery did not experience any improvement in their sex lives.

To explain the study’s findings, some experts and researchers believe that getting breast implants can help boost a woman’s confidence in the bedroom.

Professor of psychology at Colorado College, Tomi-Ann Roberts, believes that people who spend a great deal of money, effort and time on something tend to justify that effort. Positive feelings are then developed and become more frequent because of the effort that was put into achieving something.

Those who reported not having any improvement in their sex lives may likely have diminished confidence because of the stretch markets that surgery brought them.
