TV’s #1 comedy has witty humor down to a science--pun fully intended. The Big Bang Theory, which is three episodes into its seventh season, its enjoying its highest ratings ever; fans continue to find Big Bang’s mix of kooky characters and witty cracks hilariously nerdy and completely irresistible.

It’s not surprising that Big Bang has gained a humongous fan community. Besides their obvious wit and humor value, the characters are complex, relatable, and heartwarming. Big Bang fan art is some of the best out there—and now, it’s all being collected into one place for an awesome exhibition and celebration of our favorite nerds on TV.

Nucleus, a gallery in downtown Alhambra, has teamed up with Warner Bros. to present “The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute to The Big Bang Theory.” The show, which will run from Oct. 19 to Nov. 10, features over 50 artworks by professional artists that honor The Big Bang Theory in a range of visual media.

A preview sampling of the pieces shown includes retro-looking graphic art, nerd-inspired collages featuring quotes from the show, and even a gouache painting of the characters as astronauts floating in space; in other words, cool stuff.

Nucleus will be hosting a Big Bang “fan celebration” on the show’s opening night, Oct. 19, from 7 to 11pm. The party is open to all ages and is free. Costumes are encouraged (bonus points for showing up as Aquaman or the Doppler Effect.) There will be a variety of Big Bang-inspired activities, including a trivia competition at 8pm, a costume contest at 9, a DIY “Penny Blossom” station and a “BAZINGA!™ Ball Pit Photo Op.”

Whether you show up just for the free flower barrette or make it a full-on night out with your friends (complete with Big-Bang-as-Justice-League costumes), it’s sure to be a fun time.

I’ll be girl in the corner rocking the cardigan and tiara as Amy Farrah Fowler. Be there or be MC squared ;)
