Hopes that Bansky would be producing new work on the streets of Los Angeles began to brew Wednesday, when a new website  appeared, featuring a stenciled painting by the artist alongside a clock counting down to December 2013.

Alas, LA Weekly revealed there are no plans for Banksy to work in the city. The "Bansky LAX" website is nothing more than advertising for an upcoming sale by a street art distributor in the city. Representation for the notorious pop/street artist confirmed the site is an unaffiliated marketing stunt on Oct. 24.

Banksy's real, ongoing work in New York City continues to be documented on his official website, following a hiatus yesterday after his work was halted by the NYPD.
