A 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook the eastern coast of Japan early Saturday, triggering a tsunami advisory for Fukushima and several other prefectures, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake, centered in the Pacific Ocean nearly 200 miles from land, set off small waves near coastal cities in Fukushima, an area still recovering from the country’s last major earthquake and resulting nuclear disaster. None of Saturday morning’s waves reached more than 3 feet, however, which prompted the Japan Meteorological Agency to cancel their advisory just two hours after the initial shock, according to the BBC.

The Associated Press reports that the earthquake, which occurred at 2:10 a.m. local time, was also felt farther south in Tokyo. Three aftershocks were registered over the next several hours, but so far no deaths or other severe damages have been reported.

In March 2011, the Fukushima region was devastated by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that killed more than 18,000 people and caused major damage to a nuclear plant. The majority of Japan’s nuclear reactors have remained off since then.
