1. Singer Cal Shapiro and Producer Rob "Rez" Resnick put their own electronic spin on staple go-to Ke$ha, Miley and Ellie Goulding songs.

2. They come from humble beginnings.

The bandmates met in college and began producing music in 2010. The Tufts University alumni recently released their debut Island Def Jam single, "I Choose U," proving they have come a long way from their dorm room start.

3. The duo's catchy freestyles make for the perfect midterm playlist.

4. Their entrepreneurial skills are on point!

What do Rihanna and Taylor Swift have in common? Timeflies beat out both songbirds on the iTunes pop chart when their independently released “One Night” EP shot to #1. What’s even more impressive is that at the time, the band had not yet been signed to a record label. The self-made duo verified that with the help of their loyal online fan base they could rise to the top of the charts on their own.

5. The East Coast natives can freestyle about USC, the Lakers and 405 freeway at the drop of hat.

6. The band's "Under the Sea" Disney beat throwback has gained over 2.5 million YouTube views.

7. They don't discriminate. The group incorporates all types of genres into their songs including: R&B, pop, rock, funk and EDM (electric dance music).
