On Wednesday, a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with the murder of a teacher in Danvers, Massachusetts.

Colleen Ritzer, a 24-year-old high school math teacher, was reported missing Tuesday night after she did not come home and would not answer her cell phone, according to Fox News. Shortly after, blood was found in a bathroom on the second floor of Danvers High School where she taught and her body was found in the woods behind the school.

Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett did not specify how Ritzer died. However, NewsCenter 5 reported that according to law enforcement sources, the suspect killed Ritzer with a box cutter and then went to the movies.

According to CBS News, the boy was arrested based on statements he made and corroborating evidence at multiple scenes of the crime. They also recovered video surveillance.

Philip Chism was found wandering around a neighboring community at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. He was arrested by police and is being held without bail. Police officials said that they have no reason to believe that anyone else was involved with Ritzer's death.

According to Boston.com, Chism will be tried as an adult.

Judge Matthew Nestor approved funds for a mental competency evaluation. Chism's defense attorney requested that the proceeding be closed and that her client's identity remains hidden because of his age, but the judge denied the request.

Danver High School remained closed on Wednesday, along with all other public schools in the area.

Ritzer is the second teacher allegedly murdered by a student this week. A Nevada middle school teacher was allegedly shot by a 12-year-old on Monday.

The victim's family released a statement which reads:

"At this time, we are mourning the tragic death of our amazing, beautiful daughter and sister…Everyone that knew and loved Colleen knew of her passion for teaching and how she mentored each and everyone of her students."

They asked for privacy from the media as they mourn the loss of their daughter.
