If you re-watch classic Disney movies from your childhood now, it is easy to see an array of lessons that can influence impressionable minds. For example, many girls wait for that prince to come in, driving a horse an carriage. News flash ladies-- unless you’re in a Hallmark movie, it won’t happen.

Here are 13 lessons Disney (inadvertently) taught us:

1. “Hunchback of Notre Dame” taught us it doesn't matter how nice you are, the blonde will always get the girl.

2. “Cinderella” taught us to make sure your enemies have a different shoe size.

3. “Lady and the Tramp” taught us it’s never a bad time for Italian food

4. “Little Mermaid” taught us that sometimes it’s better for girls to not talk during a date. Also, invest in a singing coach.

5. “Pocahontas” taught us that even when you take a bullet for your future father-in-law, they’re still going to deport you.

6. “Hercules” taught us that everything is cooler with a gospel choir singing about your life. Also, never drink the last drop (sorry Maxwell) for reasons other than backwash.

7. “Tarzan” taught us “Cups” long before “Pitch Perfect” (and the incessant Youtube versions).

8. “Mulan” taught us that sometimes you have to get a Kate Gosselin cut and plastic wrap your chest for the sake of your father, country, and marriage prospects.

9. “Lilo & Stitch” taught us the only Hawaiian word we know besides “aloha.”

10. “Aladdin” taught us men should woo girls with some Harem pants and take them on dates to antique rug conventions. This movie also taught us that gold and crops tops have always been in style. Sorry, Rihanna.

11. “Sleeping Beauty” taught us to forget clubs or Match.com, sleeping will help you find your true love.

12. “The Lion King” taught incest is encouraged, as well as showing us that the only proper way to introduce a child into the world is to butcher African phrases.

13. “Beauty and the Beast” taught us sometimes personality, a Schick Quattro razor, and some Stockholm Syndrome can really help your prisoner fall in love with you.
