Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin preached his support for the U.S. and Russia's new chemical weapons plan to take down Syria's chemical weapons.

This has led Syria to join the International Chemical Weapons Convention, a move Russia was pushing for.

“Will it be possible to bring everything to a conclusion?” Putin said. “I can’t say 100 percent. But everything that we’ve seen up to now inspires confidence that this can and will be done.”

Things seem to be going in the right direction, after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's meeting last weekend to write the agreement. One of the major takeways from the meeting was that the two countries require Syrian President Bashar al-Asaad to complete an inventory of all the weapons that his country owns by Saturday.
