After its success of grossing over $800 million worldwide and becoming the year’s second-highest grossing animation film, the cute yellow helpers of Gru in "Despicable Me 2," are getting their own spin-off movie in summer 2015.

While "Minions" had previously been scheduled to release in December 2014, it was recently announced that it has been pushed back for more than half a year.

According to Box Office Mojo, Universal Pictures has moved "Minions" to July 10, 2015. The new release date will help Universal to fully promote their film in branching out to mass consumer products program, theme park promotions, games, and etc.

When "Despicable Me 2" released in theaters this summer, products tied to the many different characters in the film sold better than expected. One of the vendors for the toys was McDonald’s, which handed out minion toys with Happy Meals for people of all ages to collect.

Reports have said that "Minions" is a film that dates back to the 1960s, following three of the minions as they search for a new master to serve, long before teaming up with Gru.

The movie will feature voices from Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm.
