Thai food fiends, unite. Los Angeles is hosting its first-ever annual Thai Food Festival on Sept. 29 at Paramount Pictures Studios.

If you enjoy noodles, seafood, fresh, local, Thai fruit or slurping up an iced Thai tea, then this is your weekend destination. L.A. will celebrate the diverse cuisine with several savory, native dishes served up by both, Thai restaurants and Thai food trucks. Foodies and culture seekers will enjoy panels with celebrity guest chefs, food and drink samplings and live entertainment. Guest chefs include: Jet Tila, Andy Ricker, Susan Feniger, Sang Yoon, David LeFevre, Evan Kleiman and Kris Yenbamroong. Various chefs will be serving delicious dishes during numerous demonstrations.

Los Angeles is home to the first "Thai Town" in the country and has the largest population of Thai immigrants outside of Thailand … something that makes the city the "77th province of Thailand," according to L.A. Weekly. Tila, who recruited his favorite Thai chefs and restaurants to participate in the event, will serve as the festival's city ambassador. The inaugural festival is organized by the Thai Trade Center of Los Angeles, along with multiple partners, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Royal Thai Consulate General.

Eager eaters are encouraged to spice up their lives and enjoy unknown dishes (a step away from familiar entrees like phad thai or yellow curry plates). Experience the culture of Thailand through martial arts demonstrations, folk dancing, umbrella painting and Thai fruit carving. The beautiful country of Thailand awaits you!

General admission to the festival costs $50 and grants access to the festivities at 3:30 p.m. VIP tickets cost $75 and will include preferred parking, along with pre-admittance at 3 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets.
