Merritt Wever is the first winner at the Emmys for her performance in Nurse Jackie. It's her first Emmy win, but her second nomination. Her speech was short: two sentences long, as she got up and immediately said she had to go and left the stage. The Emmy was presented by Amy Pohler and Tina Fey.

Nominations included Mayim Bialik of The Big Bang Theory, Jane Lynch of Glee, Sophia Vergara of Modern Family, Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock, and Anna Chlumsky of Veep.
