The winner of the 2013 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series is Julie Louis-Dreyfus. Her fourth Emmy win and her 16th nominee, the "Veep" star stated she enjoyed having the "opportunity to make people laugh." Her speech had some help from a gentleman who came up to hold her purse and feed her lines such as remembering to thank her family, giving a bit of humor to the typical acceptance speech.

The other nominations were Laura Dern for "Enlightened," Lena Dunham for "Girls," Edie Falco for "Nurse Jackie," Amy Poehler for "Parks and Recreation," and Tina Fey for "30 Rock."
