The Emmys, which air this Sunday, will feature performances by both the legendary Elton John and country star Carrie Underwood.

John will pay tribute to Liberace in his performance due to the fact the Emmy-nominated HBO biopic, “Behind the Candelabra," racked up a slew of nominations. E! News reported that the star will be singing his new single, “Home Again.” The HBO hit, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, is nominated for an outstanding 15 Emmys.

On September 24th, John will release his first studio album in seven years titled “The Diving Board.” This is John’s first time at this particular awards show.

Another performance this Sunday will include Carrie Underwood, who will honor the late John F. Kennedy. Due to the fact that it is the fiftieth anniversary of the president’s assassination this year, Underwood will pay tribute to both Kennedy and The Beatles’ performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” They performed eighty days after his death to remember him.

"To have an opportunity to look back at a time that represented television's finest hour in a program that celebrates so many of this year's achievements is what makes the Emmys special," Emmys executive producer Ken Ehrlich commented. "We are certain that viewers will enjoy this special tribute."

It has also been reported that Don Cheadle is introducing this performance.

Both John and Underwood also performed at this past year’s Grammy Awards.

Other presenters announced so far include Tina Fey, Zooey and Emily Deschanel, Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, and more.
