And "Breaking Bad" is the winner of the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy for 2013. With 15 nominations, the series about teacher Walter White is in its final season. The Writers Guild of America recently named the show the 13th best-written TV series of all time, and AMC is currently in talks for a prequel series called "Better Call Saul."

Vince Gilligan accepted the award on behalf of the show, and went on stage with 16 other people. He started his speech off being surprised, thinking that "this would be 'House of Cards'" - and then went on to mention it could have gone to any number of series in this "golden age of television that we are a part of."

The other nominations included "Downton Abbey," "Game of Thrones," "Homeland," "House of Cards," and "Mad Men."
