There have been more and more hacking problems going on, both in and out of the country, but none more notable than China’s incessant push for U.S. secrets.

Hackers in Shanghai have been working at getting these secrets for the better half of two years, going through at least 20 foreign defense contractors.

According to an American cybersecurity company, their current target are United States’ issued military drones.

From the New York Times:

“The hacking operation, conducted by a group called “Comment Crew,” was one of the most recent signs of the ambitions of China’s drone development program. The government and military are striving to put China at the forefront of drone manufacturing, for their own use and for export, and have made an all-out push to gather domestic and international technology to support the program.”

Representatives of China have claimed that it is not the country itself seeking illegal information, but individuals and privately-owned groups, and that China itself is a victim to such information hacking.

Another American cybersecurity company, however, has traced various members of the “Comment Crew” to a building of the People’s Liberation Army outside Shanghai. Just as well, China has begun to dispatch their own drones in potential combat areas.
