In another highly-anticipated release event on Tuesday, Apple announced several new devices, including the much-rumored iPhone 5c and 5s versions.

The 5C, coined by some as the "budget" iPhone, is made of polycarbonate (plastic) and will be available in five colors, harkening back to the company's colorful iPod music devices that were popular ten years ago.

The new 5c phone will also be cheap, available for $99 on a two-year contract. Some analysts have suggested that the 5c might be Apple's attempt to crack the Chinese mobile market.

Apple also released a revised higher-end version of its iPhone 5, called the 5s. The new device will come in black, white, and gold "champagne" color. The 5s will also feature similar specifications to its iPhone 5 predecessor.

Read more about the iPhone 5c and 5s at the Los Angeles Times.
