The drones have been reported to have struck and killed on nine separate occasions in the past two weeks.

Yemen officials claim that apart from the two dead, two more were seriously injured in the attack. The officials were not allowed to disclose any of their personal information and spoke anonymously.

From N.Y. Times

"While the United States acknowledges its drone program in Yemen, it does not usually talk about individual strikes… Nine strikes in Yemen in the past two weeks have been attributed to American drones. Those attacks have killed 38 suspected militants, Yemeni officials have said.”

The United States have been taking precautionary against Yemen, fearing a terrorist attack from the Yemeni Branch of Al Qaeda, known as Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

While the United States is set to reopen diplomatic posts that were recently closed throughout parts of Africa and the Middle East amid a major terrorism alert, it will continue to keep its embassy in Yemen closed.
