A report in the New York Times claims that Sudan is supplying arms to Syrian rebels, despite the international embargo and Sudan's close ties to Iran, which backs Bashar al-Assad.

Sudan also has close ties to China, which has supported the Syrian government.

Sudan has, according to The Daily Beast, denied supplying any weapons, but Western and Sudanese rebels have both confirmed it.

Reports show that weapons were sold to Qatar and then delivered to rebels through Turkey. They were also given missiles and small-arms cartridges.
