A woman visiting Six Flags in Arlington, Texas Friday night with her family died on the Texas Giant roller coaster almost moments after leaving the ride gate.

According to Fox the park's spokeswoman Sharon Parker confirmed that a woman died but did not provide details on how she was killed. The woman was on the ride with her daughter and son-in-law at the time.

According to CNN eye witnesses who were standing in line for the ride heard her son scream, " 'let me out, let me out, my mom fell off.' " Other witnesses who were on the ride at the time said that when the woman reached one of the highest points of the ride she simply flew out of her seat.

Fox reported that some people believe her restraint belt wasn't fasten tightly and even though she was hesitant to ride par workers assured her safety. Six Flags has closed the ride pending further investigation into what happened.
