The Black Forest wildfire has been furiously blazing for the last four days. 379 homes were left burnt and two have died as a result of the fire. The fire spans around 25 square miles and around 38,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in the surrounded areas.

The fire that began on Tuesday grew dramatically late Wednesday into Thursday, making the relief effort even more difficult.

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa told reporters Friday morning that “The fire was officially 5% contained and no more houses were reported burned overnight. It was the kind of turning point we've been looking for.” The cloudy weather and lack of wind is good news in stopping the flame from spreading even further.

However, the cause of the fire is still unknown. Sheriff Maketa stated,"I'm pretty confident natural causes is out the window."

The Black Forest wildfire has been deemed the most devastating blaze in the state’s history.

Along with the Black Forest wildfire, several other fires are spreading throughout Colorado and the western United States.
