Last Wednesday, two-Michelin-starred chef Josiah Citrin of Mélisse gave a cooking demonstration at Snyder Diamond in Santa Monica.

The private event, held at the showrooms of the store, featured three dishes created by Citrin and served with expertly paired wines. Citrin cooked on BlueStar appliances, and imparted his culinary knowledge to the guests.

On the menu for the night was a moist fish dish, a hearty vegetarian dish, and a chicken dish.

The miso-glazed salmon and shishito peppers were followed by a crispy-skinned Jidori chicken dish from Citrin's cookbook, In Pursuit of Excellence. The final plate was a quinoa and vegetable dish Citrin said is popular with his family.

The acclaimed chef also signed his cookbook for attendees, who received a complimentary copy. The hardcover book is filled with innovative dishes, vibrant photos, and modern cooking techniques.

When asked what his favorite foods are -- not including his own dishes -- Citrin told Neon Tommy that he loves to eat ramen at Tsujita LA.

A variety of morsels created by Citrin made for a memorable evening at the Snyder Diamond showroom.
