According to Vona News Kerry said,"Our effort is to allow the people of Syria as a whole, with every minority respected and protected, to be able to choose the future for their country," he continued, "And to do so in a climate of peace and an absence of oppression and violence."

The Friends of Syria group includes the US, Britain, France and Germany as well as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. A joint statement released by the group on Saturday helped to provide direction on how they will move forward to assit the rebels, it said they will,  "provide urgently all necessary materiel and equipment to the opposition on the ground, each country in its own way in order to enable them to counter brutal attacks by the regime and its allies."

There is still time needed to determine how and when the support will be delivered but it is expected for additional resources to arrive immediately to the region.
