Ashley Tisdale granted three year restraining order against stalker.
After one year and more than 18,000 tweets, Ashley Tisdale, star of "High School Musical" and an honorable member of the Disney Channel crew, has finally gained freedom from affirmed stalker, Nicholas Fiore. Since 2012, Fiore, a 21 year old man Tisdale claims to never have met, has been attempting to contact the actress via the social media website.  His tweets included such messages as: "u could let it all out on me; crazy as it gets we're in this together & that won't change @ashleytisdale" and "no one else understands & that's what makes it perfect @ashleytisdale u kno how crazy we sound to anybody lol think about it"- these being two of the more moderate of his tweets. According to TMZ, he has also attempted to visit her at her home in Los Angeles by posing as a delivery man, thus prompting Ashley to file a temporary restraining order requiring him to stay 100 yards away from her at all times. After repeatedly violating his probation and at the urging of Tisdale who feared her and her boyfriend Christopher French's life after Fiore sent tweets referencing guns, the temporary restraint has been extended to 3 years.

Incidents like this prompt thoughts and deliberations on how stalking situations involving the famous should be handled. Should they be taken seriously from the get-go or simply dismissed as an innocent crush? But what first may start out as harmless adoration can quickly turn into something much stronger- a sense of entitlement, which can prompt some people to engage in perverse behavior.  Ashley Tisdale is not the only actress to have had a run-in with an obsessed fan.  Other celebrities including Paris Hilton, Sharon Stone, Marion Cotillard and Lindsay Lohan have also had encounters. The upcoming movie, "The Bling Ring", directed by Sofia Coppola, showcases robberies committed by obsessed teenage fans between 2008 and 2009.  During this year more than $3 million dollars worth of clothes, shoes, jewelry and money were stolen from the celebrities' homes in an attempt to emulate them.  Although this is the worst case scenario, it cannot be denied that cases involving stalkers should be taken seriously.

After receiving news of the court's final decision Ashley Tisdale tweeted, "Today is a great day. I am so blessed to have such amazing fans. You guys always look out for me and are so supportive through everything. I love you all #grateful." Now she can continue to live her life and tweet to her fans Fiore-free.
