As the nation takes time to honor fallen military soldiers and those committing their lives to the armed forces the state of Texas is looking for answers in a shooting spree that occurred early Sunday morning.

On Sunday a 23-year-old North Carolina resident opened fire from his pickup truck on random cars across McCulloch and Concho counties in central Texas. After killing two people and injuring five others including a Concho County sheriff the man later died in a shootout with police.

Some of the victims of the shooting included; 41-year-old Alicia Torres and the sister-in-law of Bangs Police Chief Troy Grunsendorf and her husband.

According to CBS Houston, after the shootout police discovered an assault-style rifle, a handgun and several hundred rounds of ammunition.
