Seth Meyers Tapped To Replace Jimmy Fallon On NBC's 'Late Night'
The appointment of Meyers had been expected for weeks. Lorne Michaels, the producer of “Saturday Night Live,” will oversee Meyers’ show in addition to serving as executive producer of “The Tonight Show” after it moves to New York with Fallon as host.
“Since 1982, there have been three ‘Late Night’ hosts starting with David Letterman, and Seth couldn’t be in better company,” Michaels said in a statement.
NBC has not determined a date for Leno to step down, but it is likely to take place early next year during the network’s coverage of the Winter Olympics.
