DNA results released Friday morning show that Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping and rapping three women for almost a decade in his dilapidated Cleveland home, is the father of the 6-year-old girl born to one of his captors, Ohio’s attorney general said. 

Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation received a sample of Castro’s DNA late Thursday and worked throughout the night to confirm paternity. 

Attorney General Mike DeWine also said in a statement that “Castro’s DNA did not match any other Ohio cases,” but that the FBI is still checking the sample to establish if he is connected to others cases outside of the state.
