Young Actress Votes For Garcetti

Catherine Boyce, a petite blonde woman in her early 30’s, struts out of the polling booth, proudly displaying the “I Voted” sticker on her chest. She’s an actress from the Art District of L.A., and you may have seen her in a few Bing or Windex commercials.
Like some other Los Angeles residents did today, Catherine did her part by voting in the 2013 Los Angeles Mayoral Election. And Catherine, known to her friends as C.C., has done her homework. She has researched the candidates by listening to debates and interviews on the radio and reading articles in the news. She put a lot of thought into her choice for mayor,LA city council member Eric Garcetti.
As an avid biker and public transport user, Boyce says that Garcetti is the only candidate she heard mention public transportation expansion. While public transportation may not be the first issue on everyone’s mind, she says that she “voted with what is important to me.”
Along with issues like public transportation, Boyce thinks that Garcetti is running on the most “modern” platform, and that appeals to her. “I just think [Garcetti] knows what’s best for Los Angeles in the future,” says Boyce.
In addition to the mayoral race, Boyce had thoughts on Proposition A, the measure to increase sales taxes in Los Angeles county by half a percent. “If that’s going to help Los Angeles, then why not?”
