USC Student Killed, 2 Others Injured In South L.A. Car Crash

A University of Southern California student was killed and two others were injured in an overnight crash in South Los Angeles, authorities told CBS Los Angeles.

The Chinese Students & Scholars Association (CSSA) of USC posted on its Facebook account that Xinhai Huang, a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering, died in a car accident in L.A. early Sunday morning.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at Hyde Park and West boulevards at 2:55 a.m., about five miles southwest of the USC campus.

It is not known if the injured victims were also affiliated with the university. The case remains under investigation.
