Two people were trapped in a trench at the Pacific Palisades construction site on Thursday. 50 members of the Los Angeles Fire Department were on the scene to help rescue the two victims.

One of the men, who was buried up to his knees, has already been safely rescued. He was transported via ambulance to UCLA's Medical Center.

However, the second male, a construction worker who is unconscious, is still trapped according to LAFD spokesman Erik Scott. He is buried up to his chest and is currently in grave condition. Both men were reportedly stuck six feet below the ground.

The incident was reported at 1:30 p.m. near 200 Temescal Canyon Road. Scott also said that the operation will last for an "extended period".
