Every other week, writer Mara Hyman takes a look at the buzzworthy short films coming from the music video universe. Here are her latest picks:

Taylor Swift - "22"

Taylor's next single, "22," is by far her most upbeat and fun song so far. If there was any question that Swift was venturing into the pop territory, this song is the response. The song documents her adventures with her friends and living life to the fullest. The vibe is almost similar to Avril Lavigne's more recent pop, punchy hits. The video matches the song almost exactly, highlighting Taylor and her real life friends eating cake, playing at the beach, throwing a house party, and more. The song doesn't really showcase her vocal ability or stray from her comfort zone, but it's somewhat refreshing to see her not sing about boys for once, right? [Ed. note: right.] What do you think about the new song?

Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors"

Justin is back—again! His second single, "Mirrors," is very catchy and a nice follow-up to "Suit & Tie" which was a bit more relaxed and laid-back. At about 8 minutes long, it follows his recent trend of producing very long songs, but then again, who wouldn't want to listen to Justin for 8 minutes? The video is very artsy, following the story of an older couple and how they met.  It has a very vintage, nostalgic flair which is different for Justin. We also see him at the end dancing around mirrors, hence the title of the song. Are you happy with this song and the rest of his album, "The 20/20 Experience"?

Pitbull feat. Christina Aguilera - "Feel This Moment"

Pitbull and Christina Aguilera recently collaborated in their latest hit, "Feel This Moment," which highlights the two artists' strengths nicely. Christina got to showcase her vocals and Pitbull did his thing as usual. The song isn't anything new necessarily, but it's really catchy especially in the chorus. The video incorporates cool stylistic choices, alternating between Pitbull and Christina as well as scenes from Pitbull's tour. It is all shot in black and white and incorporates photo images and a booklet woven together by the video. Are you happy with this duo?

Jessica Sanchez feat. Ne-Yo - "Tonight"

You might recognize Jessica Sanchez as the runner up on the last season of "American Idol." Now, she has come back and partnered with Ne-Yo on a new club hit called "Tonight." At first listen, fans of Jessica might be surprised to heart this side of her when she was known for power ballads on Idol, but it seems to agree with her! Hopefully she doesn't go too mainstream though. The video is fun, incorporating a lot of bright lights and neon colors. It'll be interesting to see how her upcoming appearances on "Glee" play out with her fanbase and how her style of music changes. What do you think about the song?

DJ Pauly D feat. Jay Sean - "Back to Love"

Attempting to be a DJ again, "Jersey Shore"'s very own Pauly D collaborated with Jay Sean for his latest single. The song isn't very original, but it has a strong beat and catchy chorus. The video is essentially a commercial for the new Google Glass, as we see a model trying it on in a dressing room and later showcasing it in a fashion show. Jay Sean also jams out on the runway with Pauly D fist pumping in the background. The video works a lot with light, shadows and neutral colors for a cool effect. What are your thoughts on DJ Pauly D—are his DJ'ing days over?
