What we see on the runway is often what we get when the time comes to declare seasonal beauty trends. As the official makeup sponsor of LA Fashion Week, Manna Kadar Cosmetics is in charge of coming up with an original look for each show. Amidst the pandemonium backstage, Manna Kadar and her makeup team walked Neon Tommy through two very different looks.

The night’s first show, Brigade LA, featured a look inspired by the iconic Twiggy. Makeup artists created a graphic cut crease look on the models using a double cat eye. They also included Twiggy’s signature exaggerated lower lashes, which they paired with a coral lip. To keep the overall look modern, the models’ cheekbones were heavily contoured, balancing out their dramatic eye makeup.

For the XCVI show, Manna wanted to create a more ethereal, angelic look. Her makeup team achieved this effect through liberal amounts of highlighter on top of glowing, flawless skin. The eyes and lips were kept fairly neutral in order to ensure maximum focus on the model’s fresh faces.

The XCVI aesthetic also happens to be right on point with Manna’s predictions for this year’s spring trends. By her estimation, we’ll be seeing a lot of bold brows, dewy skin, and peachy lips and cheeks in the weeks to come. The good news?  All of these trends are just as wearable in broad daylight as they are on the runway.
