A 35-year-old man working as a poll worker was shot just outside a Watts elementary school Tuesday morning, LAPD officials said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, police have a woman in custody in connection to the shooting, though it was not immediately clear how she was involved. Officials say they are still looking for a man who is suspected of being the shooter.

At around 9:04 a.m.  a domestic dispute broke out which triggered the shooting. Shortly after, the victim ran back into the school auditorium and he was later taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

92nd Street Elementary School was briefly put on lockdown while police secured the scene, but has since been declared safe.
