After a long injury layoff, former Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley was hoping to make an impression on NFL scouts at USC's pro day Wednesday.

Barkley did not work out in front of scouts at January's Senior Bowl or February's NFL Combine after spraining his throwing shoulder on Nov. 17 against rival UCLA. He missed the Trojans' final two games of the 2012 season.

The 6-foot-2 Newport Beach native threw passes to USC teammates Robert Woods and Curtis McNeal, completing 56 of 62 attempts as scouts from 31 of the 32 NFL teams looked on.

Safeties T.J. McDonald and Jawanza Starling, cornerback Nickell Robey, defensive end Wes Horton and center Khaled Holmes were some of the other notable players who participated in the day's workouts.
