David Petraeus, former CIA Director, will be arriving at USC to speak about his new life goals after his exposed affair scandal last year.

According to MSNBC:

“It will be the former four-star general’s first public speech since his resignation, and his first address save for a behind-closed-doors testimony over the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya last September.”

From the NY Times, Petraeus will explain in his speech that his reasoning behind his retirement was of his own doing and that he now has a voice to talk about matters on the economy, energy, and veterans in the private sector.

Petraeus has been receiving more public attention since his retirement, attending lunch and dinner with former colleagues and officials, while attending seminars across the country.

The speech he will give was arranged before his resignation and will be continue as planned regardless of the updated situation. Having served as commander of the U.S. forces in Afghanistan and a 37-year Army veteran, Petraeus will be presenting at an R.O.T.C. event honoring veterans.
