NYPD Officer Convicted Of Kidnapping Conspiracy

The New York City police officer accused of planning to kidnap, torture, kill and then eat women was convicted Tuesday. 

Gilberto Valle, 28, can face up to life in prison just for conspiring to kidnap, even though he never acted on it. 

“The evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Officer Valle’s plans were real, that he was serious, that he was not just entertaining himself,” The New York Times reported that prosecutor, Hadassa Waxman, told the jury on Thursday.

Valle is also convicted of illegally accessing a law enforcement database in order research possible victims. 

Valle lived out many of his twisted fantasies in the dark corners of the Internet, often role playing with others he met online.
