The hospital is finally saved! After what seemed like years of contemplation and nail-biting episodes, the hospital is finally saved thanks to a generous amount of investment from the Harper Avery Foundation. But wait, the drama doesn't stop there. With this donation comes new leadership. The representative from the foundation is elected to lead the hospital and is none other than Jackson Avery, as suggested by his mother. Needless to say, older attendees aren't thrilled to have their collegeaue take charge. Let's recap!

Not So Warm And Fuzzy: Right off the bat, the board (Meredith, Derek, Callie, Arizona, and Cristina), are skeptical of Avery's leadership skills, and the idea leaves a bad taste in their mouths. At their first meeting, Avery informs the board that the re-opening of the ER was not on the list of immediate revisions, and also that foundation was thinking about implementing new leadership within the hopsital- in other words, firing Owen.  Ouch! This didn't go over well with the board, and within hours Owen hears about the idea, and gets into a heated argument with both Avery and Sheperd. Then he quits. Talk about drama.

Jealous Eyes: Stubborn Alex doesn't want to just admit that he has feelings for Jo, and after finding out that she's dating another doctor, named Chesty (quite the hunk!), his mood becomes increasingly sour and snippy around her. Jo just thinks he hates her, but doesn't know why. Turns out, Alex isn't just ticked about Jo's new date. He also feels betrayed and left behind by Meredith and Cristina, his closest friends. He doesn't like the idea of them being in charge of him. Meredith gets the attitude and cold shoulder from him too, and finally calls him out on it. After realizing his wrong, he attempts to make things right by crashing Jo's date and apologizing. That didn't go over too well.

Lion's Den: In the beginning of the episode, Avery is a mess. He can't make decisions, isn't prepared, and isn't on top of juggling multiple things at once. Webber talks to Catherine to try to explain to her that her son is not ready for this job. If he fails, it will be something that is carried on throughout his entire career. Webber, Chief of Surgery for 12 years, knows what he's talking about. By the end of the episode however, after he's managed to piss everyone off, Avery starts to get the hang of it. In the end, another meeting is called, and Avery tells the board that the foundation is re-evaluating their priorities, and that the ER is the first thing to be re-opened. Avery also suggests Owen's entrance back into Chief of Surgery immediately.

And one more thing...Avery proposes a new name for the hospital, as the hopsital is officially owned by doctors, he stresses the importance of a name that represents everything they've been through and the meaning behind it. His suggestion?

Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Needless to say, a unanimous vote cleared the new name of the hospital.
