Big news, Gleeks: Broadway superstar Idina Menzel is heading back to “Glee,” reprising her role as Rachel’s mama. (EW)

Ang Lee’s signed on to direct a pilot for FX. The show, named “Tyrant,” was created by alums from “Homeland,” “Hatufim” (the Israeli show that “Homeland” is based off of), and “Six Feet Under,” so needless to say, he’s got some good material to work with. (Vulture)

There’s a Freddie Mercury biopic happening (with none other than Sacha Baron Cohen starring), and it’s “Les Miserables”/”The King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper who’s looking to helm it. (Deadline)

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is going to be writing a rock opera score for the Yale Repetory Theater (specifically, it’s for “Much Ado About Nothing”), because why the hell not. (NYT)

Wondering who’s going to take the helm for “Jurassic Park 4”? The answer is here: “Safety Not Guaranteed” director Colin Trevorrow. (The A.V. Club)
