He's cast himself as an outsider in comparison to the other candidates, who all have experience in politics -- a history other candidates, like Wendy Greuel, have had to combat.

“Kevin has not been involved in the city business as Wendy has for over 16 years. He is an outsider, an attorney in the entertainment industry, was a federal prosecutor and wants what’s best for the city,” said Jaz Summers a campaign volunteer.

In an effort to garner more votes and rapport with voters, James’ campaign has turned to social media.

“We are doing a lot of social networking right now which is probably the best way. We are in the down and dirty and trying to speak to as many people as possible,” said Summers.

Summers went on to explain that some of the trust the public has developed in James is a byproduct of his lack of involvement with city council and the financial mess the city currently faces.

James has alleged in an SEC complaint that Greuel and the others mismanaged city finances. Summers believes the complaint has potential to sway votes.

“We have an extremely strong position and people really need the journalists to stand up and make this a big deal and to make this now,” said Summers.

His campaign office, located in Sherman Oaks, is expected to continue making phone calls until late into the evening in hopes of solidifying more votes for tomorrow's election and gaining an edge over the other candidates, especially Greuel.
