Biden's Office Issues Apology to Student Journalist

The apology came after Lucy Dalglish, dean of the University of Maryland's journalism school, filed a formal complaint against the vice president's press office, calling the incident "pure intimidation."
The student, Jeremy Barr, is a reporter at Capital News Service, the University of Maryland's news organization. On Wednesday, he was covering a domestic violence event featuring Biden and inadvertently, sat outside the designated press area.
"I didn't see any demarcation that would have designated a press entrance versus a general entrance," Barr told Fox News.
From where he sat, Barr took photos of each speaker and once the event was over, he was approached by a volunteer staffer who questioned him about his activities.
The staffer, according to Barr, asked to see Barr's photos and then forced him to delete them, in her presence.
According to Barr, the staffer rationalized her demand by saying that since those photos were taken outside of the press area, they gave Barr "an unfair advantage" over other members of media at the event.
The Capital News Service reported that Barr's editor and college professor, Adrianne Flynn said the incident was a "clear violation of the First Amendment."
This is not the first time the Vice Presdient's office has had to issue an apology to a reporter: in 2011, an apology was issued to a reporter who was kept locked in a storage closet for over an hour.
