With Spring Break 2013 already started for some and quickly approaching for others, people are undoubtedly searching for that perfect song to set the mood for their vacation. Be prepared to have some fun over break because regardless of what everyone's plans are, Neon Tommy has the perfect playlist!

Check out the following tracks if you're planning a...

Tropical Getaway

With melodies and lyrics that inspire images of the beach, these tunes will help provide a soundtrack to those sunny days spent relaxing in the sand or swimming in the ocean.

  • "Kokomo," The Beach Boys: No playlist is complete without a track by The Beach Boys… These guys basically made beach music and surf rock mainstream—just look at their band name!
  • "You Almost Had Me," Zac Seif: This chill acoustic tune will have beachgoers imagining themselves in a hammock as palm trees sway in the tropical breeze.
  • "Lay Me Down (feat. Rome of Sublime With Rome)," The Dirty Heads: Heavily influenced by ska and reggae, this feel-good tune brings images of sun, surf, and sand to mind.
  • "Falling," Iration: This track by the Hawaiian/Californian group Iration is great for those who want to explore a style of reggae different from that of Bob Marley.
  • "Summer Paradise (feat. Sean Paul)," Simple Plan: Inspired by lead vocalist Pierre Bouvier's love for surfing, "Summer Paradise" is great listening material for a day at the beach.

Road Trip

Wherever the destination may be, these songs will definitely keep travelers wide awake during those long hours spent in the car.

  • "Everything Is Alright," Motion City Soundtrack: Upbeat and catchy, this 2005 MCS hit will have everyone in the car singing along.
  • "No Sleep," Wiz Khalifa: This track's title is pretty self-explanatory...
  • "Opposite of Adults (Kids)," Chiddy Bang: Seeing as how road trips seem to be a universal experience among high school and college students, a song about celebrating one's youth seems fitting.
  • "Golden Touch," The Dance Party: The opening lines"Live it up / Let's hit the streets"make this energetic pop punk track a great choice for the occasion.
  • "Raise Your Glass," P!nk: As cliché as celebrating one's individuality may be, "Raise Your Glass" is the perfect feel-good anthem for recreating that road trip that everyone has seen on TV or in the movies.

Party

These tracks are perfect for any kind of party playlist - whether it's to be used during the event or to get you pumped up beforehand.

  • "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall (Coldplay vs. Swedish House Mafia)," Coldplay: No one can deny that SHM makes this Coldplay song one hell of a dance track, regardless of how they feel about those darned British rockers.
  • "Last Night (Vegas)," Breathe Carolina: This track is perfect for any kind of party. It's not too heavy for kickbacks, but it's also just crazy enough for ragers.
  • "Come & Get It," Krewella: Overlooking the obvious choice of Skrillex, this EDM trio from Chicago is the epitome of what "wub wub" music should be.
  • "Too F**ked Up to Call," 2AM Club: Despite its title, this song sets the right mood for kickbacks and small get-togethers with close friends.
  • "The Night Out (Madeon Remix)," Martin Solveig: Another energetic song guaranteed to keep everyone on the dance floor moving.

Camping Trip

Whether you're playing a guitar or an iPod, no camping trip is complete without a good old-fashioned campfire singalong, so consider adding these songs to your camping playlist.

  • "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," Death Cab for Cutie: Simple, catchy, and relaxing… What more could you want in a campfire song?
  • "Hey Ya," Obadiah Parker: This acoustic cover of the 2003 hit by OutKast should be familiar to most campers due to its fairly recent release.
  •  "Simple Man (Acoustic)," Shinedown: Another acoustic cover (this time of Lynyrd Skynyrd), this track is just begging to be played around the campfire.
  • "Come Back Home," The Icarus Account: This sibling duo might be unknown to most mainstream music listeners, but they've got a great catalog of fun acoustic tracks that are easy enough to learn and sing along to.
  • "Landslide," Fleetwood Mac: "Landslide" is a definite classic and should be easily recognized by campers as it has been covered time and time again by The Dixie ChicksThe Smashing Pumpkins, andmost recentlythe hit TV show "Glee."
