USC Department of Public Safety Officer Keith Lawrence and his wife, Cal State-Fullerton assistant basketball coach Monica Quan, were each shot multiple times, according to autopsy results (PDF) released by the Orange County Coroner’s Office late Wednesday.

Lawrence, 27, was autopsied Tuesday and the autopsy of Quan, 28, was performed Wednesday. Aside from identifying the cause of death of both victims as multiple gunshot wounds, county officials released no further details about the mysterious killings.

According to the Irvine Police Department, Lawrence and Quan were found by police officers at approximately 9:10 pm Sunday shot dead inside Lawrence’s car, which was parked on the top floor of the parking structure at their Irvine condominium complex.

Lawrence and Quan had recently moved to the Avenue One development, which had a security system in place restricted access to the garage where the two were murdered, according to the OC Register.

As a security professional, Lawrence was licensed to carry a weapon, but neither he nor Quan were armed at the time.

Authorities are investigating the killings as a double homicide. Irvine Police Lt. Julia Engen told the OC Register police are looking into whether the attack was random or directed at the couple.
