Steven Mitchell

Height/Weight: 5’10’’, 176 lbs

Position: WR

City: Mission Hills, CA

School: Bishop Alemany

  -5th-ranked prospect in California*

  -6th-ranked wide receiver*

  -54th overall prospect nationally*

  (*according to Rivals.com)

From Robert Woods in 2010 to Marqise Lee and George Farmer in 2011 to Nelson Agholor in 2012, USC signed a blue chip wide receiver in each of the last three recruiting classes. 2013 is no different, as the Trojans have signed the top receiver in California in Bishop Alemany’s Steven Mitchell. Mitchell is smaller and less physically gifted than his predecessors, but makes up for it with elite-level quickness and superb route running skills. That skill set makes Mitchell an ideal fit in the slot and could be his ticket to early playing time on a roster crowded by players better suited to the outside receiver positions. Lee and Agholor will be penciled into the starting lineup come the season opener, but don’t be surprised if fall camp breaks with Mitchell as the third receiver.
