Super Bowl XLVII was temporarily left in the dark as part of the Superdome in New Orleans lost power during the third quarter and caused a delay in action.

The AFC champion Baltimore Ravens had a 28-6 lead over the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers when play was halted. The power failure lasted 34 minutes before play was resumed.

The 49ers are no strangers to having games stopped due to a power outage. A Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Candlestick Park last season was stalled for about 25 minutes before the game continued.
