The Summer Set, We Are The In Crowd, Go Radio Keep Roxy Wide Awake
Go Radio kicked off the show with a lively performance of "Collide" that immediately had the audience singing along and nodding their heads.
Audience members were especially happy to hear the Floridians' latest angst-ridden rock ballad single off their sophomore album "Close the Distance" (2012), yelling the lines "Go to Hell" to their hearts' content.
The band then closed their 8-song set with "I Won't Lie," complete with beautiful harmonies provided by Alex Reed (guitarist) and Matt Poulos (bassist) that complemented former Mayday Parade frontman Jason Lancaster's powerful voice.
We Are The In Crowd continued where Go Radio left off, performing hits like "Kiss Me Again" and "Exits and Entrances" with an energy that just never seemed to run out.
The L.A. crowd was lucky enough to hear a performance of "See You Around," as it was only the band's third ever time performing the song live.
Keeping true to their breakout hit "Both Sides of the Story," the band used both of its vocalists (Tay Jardine and Jordan Eckes), which has allowed them to carve out a distinct sound in a relatively homogenous world of pop-punk.
Perhaps thanks to the unique "he said, she said" dynamic present in their music, the Poughkeepsie, New York natives garnered an even louder response from the crowd than did the previous act.
The band also kept the audience's spirits high with a lot of interaction, joking around with the fans and asking for help in singing some fan favorites like the pop-punk ballad "You've Got It Made."
We Are The In Crowd's last song was their lead single "Rumor Mill" off "Best Intentions" (2011), and they ended their 11-song set on a high note, leaving high expectations for the final act.
Ending the night, The Summer Set also pulled off an incredible high-energy performance. Lead vocalist Brian Dales was excited to announce that the band would be playing their longest set yet.
Audience members were in for a treat as the Scottsdale, Arizona natives debuted songs off of their upcoming album "Legendary," including the hit single "Fuck U Over" and "Boomerang."
Playing old favorites like "Love Like This" and "About a Girl" off their previous records, the band also surprised fans with their take on Bruno Mars's latest hit "Locked Out of Heaven."
After supposedly ending the night with the wistful "When We Were Young," The Summer Set came back for a lively 2-song encore, performing the title track off "Legendary" as well as their 2009 hit "Chelsea."
Living up to its name, this second performance off the "Wake Up and Be Awesome" Tour definitely had concertgoers up all night reliving the experience and undoubtedly wanting more, speaking favorably to how the rest of the 30-date tour will go.
Luckily, fans won't have to wait long as The Summer Set is releasing "Legendary" sometime this year while We Are The In Crowd is currently working on their second full-length album, which is also expected this year.
