As usual, this year's Oscars red carpet showed us stars who brought their style game-faces - for better or for worse - and those who just didn't make an impression.

Stars Who Stood Out

Brandi Glanville

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star, Brandi Glanville, clearly stood out with her low cut champagne and cream-colored dress.  Despite the "provocativeness” of the dress, it was stunning with its slit and ruffles at the bottom.

Zoe Saldana wore quite the unique dress, in spite of its basic white color. The delicate black and grey layers at the bottom in addition to the belt, bow and decorated top made for a beautiful dress.

Naomie Harris

Naomie Harris, from “Skyfall,” wore a remarkable gold dress unlike most of the other metallic dresses of the night. There was nothing quite like it.

The Boys In Blue

Gael Garcia Bernal and Daniel Day-Lewis were examples of some the gentlemen wearing blue suits. While the blue suits might be on the verge of “playing it safe,” they sure beat the traditional black tuxes. These men in blue looked wonderful.

Rachel Mwanza, from the foreign film “War Witch,” wore a wonderfully colored dress with a few layers.  The dress was loud and fun.

Samuel L. Jackson showed us what dressing up is all about with his red velvet suit and shiny silver shirt. Hopefully everyone follows his lead next year.

Seth MacFarlane’s dad, Ron MacFarlane, unmistakably stood out with his kilt as he walked the red carpet.

The Boys In Black

AKA any man on the red carpet who wore a black tuxedo and did not follow Samuel L. Jackson’s lead. While extremely handsome, these men could stand to shake it up a little.

Helen Hunt’s dress was a nice blue, but was a tad wrinkled and overall, just wasn’t a stunner.

Shaun Robinson’s dress slightly resembled an out-of-style prom dress from years' past. The colors were okay, but definitely not stand-out.

Reese Witherspoon’s dress: another blue one with a little bit of wrinkles.
