Christopher Dorner, the fugitive ex-cop suspected of murdering four people, appeared to have taken refuge in a cabin just steps away from a police command post established to track his whereabouts.

Throughout the Dorner manhunt, police set up a command post and press-conference hub near Big Bear. Police scoured the area and went home to home in search of Dorner, but found nothing. It now appears Dorner may have hid in an unoccupied cabin across the street from the post, four days after launching a killing spree that left four dead.

He was last seen cornered at a San Bernardino cabin after engaging in a firefight with local authorities, killing one deputy and wounding another. Shortly after a fire consumed the cabin. Authorities are working to identify the charred remains of a body believed to be Dorner.
