Preview: The Ranch And Grand Park Downtown BookFest

Here's a preview of two events for music and book lovers who are looking for something new to do this weekend.

The Ranch

A new music festival with two stages will feature live music local bands like The Internet, Kisses, Mansions on the Moon, Races and many more. Attendees have an option to camp out overnight and stay on the 20-acre property in Topanga Canyon until Sunday morning. The festival is also a benefit party working with a charity organization called "Ranch Kids," which gives local kids the opportunity to learn about agriculture, farming and raising animals. 

Update: Goldroom was announced Wednesday as a surprise headliner.

Grand Park's Downtown Bookfest

Downtown's Grand Park is hosting a free BookFest that will bring together independent publishers, book sellers and performers to celebrate the National Education Associatoin's Read Across America Day. The event will host pop-up book shops including one from The Last Bookstore, reading circles for kids and food trucks to feed hungry readers.
