As celebrities attend the most anticipated awards show in Hollywood, the Academy Awards red carpet turns into a celebrity's runway. More formal than most, Oscars fashion is an extremely important factor to grand entrances, and color plays a key role.

Red

Always an attention-grabber on the red carpet, the color red stands out among the neutral-toned dresses. Sally Fields made quite the statement in Valentino red, and other stars who opted for the fiery color were Kerry Washington, Jennifer Aniston, Marcia Gay Harden and Olivia Munn.

Champagne

Whether it involves metallic beading or simple chiffon, champagne creates a perfect transition into the spring season. Celebrities such as Amanda Seyfried, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer shimmered in the light-hued tone as they made their ways across the red carpet.

Black

The color that ruled the red carpet this year appeared to be black. A go-to hue for any awards show, black always ensures a classy, timeless look for anyone who wears it. Kelly Osbourne masters the color with a flowing dress with just the right amount of sparkle. A few of the many other stars who rocked classic black were Adele, Samantha Barks, Giuliana Rancic and Kristin Chenoweth.
