With the Grammys taking place Sunday night at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Police Department was forced to declare a tactical alert as the manhunt for ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner continues, according to the L.A. Times.

During tactical alerts, cops can be held over on their shifts and will not respond to low-priority radio calls. The LAPD regularly sends large contingents of officers to awards shows.

Earlier today, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa offered a $1-million reward for information leading to Dorner's arrest.

Police Chief Charlie Beck said it was "the largest local reward ever offered, to our knowledge."
