Nearly 8,000 guests attended funeral services Wednesday for Michael Crain, 34, a Riverside police officer slain last week in an alleged killing spree by Christopher Dorner.

Regina Crain, the widow of the 11-year veteran, said her husband "seemed like a dream" as she spoke during the ceremony. Riverside Chief Sergio Diaz also spoke during the service, sharing stories directed at Crain's daughter, 4, and son,10.

Law enforcement and guests followed a pipe band and procession into Grove Community Church in Riverside.

Crain was killed Feb. 7 while waiting at a stoplight in Riverside with a trainee officer. Dorner is suspected of killing three others in connection with a revenge plot directed at the LAPD and their families.

Crain served two tours in Kuwait with the Marine Corps before joining the Riverside Police Department in Aug. 2001.
